I found my senegal puking a few hours ago. He has been fat for sometime, but I always thought it was because he was a pig always hogging the pellets. Today I found him dead on the bottom of the tank, with a big belly, that to my suprise was empty, but still big.
Possibly bloat? She was a pig and ate more than my big ornate, must of been a recent death, I found her not breathing.

Poor George. One of my fish that had a name.

Are you going to perform necropsy on George to find out the cause of death? I am sorry to hear about your loss. Necropsy is one way to find out the exact cause of death.

That happen to my cat fish in to the fillter :(:(:( I felt so bad the hole day

Found george "the albino sen" hanging tail out of the AC 50 powerhead, so I think that is his cause of death, he couldn't get out and prob couldn't get a gulp of air.
I got to thinking about the other one, the regular sen.. Maybe it was puking because it was choking. I have no idea. I tried to cut it open to see what was inside, but polypterus skin is pretty tough stuff. Felt around no rocks, so there was not a blockage. It just sucks, but now I am worried my bad luck will follow to my other polys which cost just a little bit more. Belly was big and empty, and when I grabbed him he was passing a little hikari.

It was not sick, swam fine like always, I thought it was chewing, but saw my severum trying to scrap some of the puke. Disgusting. Bad time for the senegals, I'm going to keep an eye on the others. Maybe change the diet, I had a different poly a while back die of massivore. Problem is polys don't chew and swallow before moving on to a different pellet, and massivore when it gets wet turns into clay.
Was a lesson learned on the powerhead, never again will I turn it on without a net over it.

I must have confused myself over two senegals. Sorry about that. What tools did you use to cut the skin of the one puking? A sharp scissors or scalpel from laboratories are your best bet.

I tried to use a sharp knife didn't work their skin is thick and they are so slippery.
