I have two Sens put into the tank about a week apart. The one added later is about 2" larger than the first and to start with was a great deal lighter. Now though they are both quite dark. Are they adjusting to their surroundings? (I have black gravel) Or god forbid is it a sign of poor health? Theyre both quite active and are eating every chance they get.

senegalus color can range from a light beige to dark gray depending on the genes. and on top of that, how dark/light the surrounding is will affect how dark/light they turn.

like inf said many things can effect how you precieve the coloration to be including
bright light will make them appear paler/lighter dim lighting and dark substrate will make them appear darker-Anne

It's more than my perception. The two sens in the same tank under the same lights were noticeably different colors, like black and white, but now they're the same. But hey as long as it doesn't mean they're sick I'm happy.
