So I've had my sen in the new 55 for 3 days yet he seems very light.
The sand is white, but, would he loose his color that fast? Also, if it is the sand I don't want to change it so is there anyway to darken the tank, as to darken my Bichir?

yeah its the sand

yeah darker sand will brig out his natural color

you can try a black backround if you don't already have it, or maybe some floating cover to dim the light a bit might help too

I did just put balck background on it last night and I'm expecting to get some Salvinia on Monday. Again, I'd figured it was the sand but wanted to see if there's anything I could do w/o changing the sand...Thanks Wolf

Nothing you can do to change its color if you stick to white. Change it to tan, balck, red, brown or orange to darken it up.

Nocturnal bottom dwelling fish bleach out from white substrates. They don't like to be seen that's why they tried to blend as much as possible.
