senegal tank lid

i have albino senegal in my tank

i have made holes in my tank lid fot the heat made from light to move out in that case what should i do, will these try climb out of my tank? if so what should i do?

what kind of filter should i use for this tank

tank size is 3 ' X 1.5' x1.25 (lXbXh)

the holes are slightly bigger than 2 pound sterling coin

How big is the sen? If it's under 6" I have bad news...

they are nearly 5.5

holes are not near to the tank tip and they are quite up approx 4" from tank

will they climb up by crawling from the tank

It's never sure. Mine never even tried,neither did my ropefish,but.sometimes they just get out. But if they are 5.5" and the holes are 4" over the water surface you should be fine

Why not try covering the open spaces of the lid with a mesh of some kind or screen? Will let heat out but keep bichir in!

More air the better. I have an open lid for my tank that I put on every night
