Senegal tank mate question

Hi, i have received a 45 gallon corner tank for free ^^
and i was just wondering what are some good tank mates that will clean sand i can keep with a pretty small bichir? ( i saw one at pet-smart )

i want to try out sand and i've read that these guys are messy eaters so i'd like something that the bichir wont eat that will eat some of the left-over food that the bichir doesnt finish, also i don't want the bichir to eat them either

they will do what you want and will stay smaller but bigger then your bicihir can eat... feather fish catfish at petsmart is a good one

also sand is the best choice for bichirs

u should get some synodontiscatfish and reedfish for ur bichir tankmates. Reed fish are pretty much like bichirs but they are WAY longer. they can still perfectly fit in ur 45 gal once they are aldults. also sand is a good because bichirs are very rash and crazy eaters and they might accidentally swallow one and choke while eating. Sand is also fine and solf so you will not risk torn fins like my bichir when they are sttishish abd they swim around franticly.

While certain bichirs probably shouldn't go with ropes, the small species are great tankmates for them. I'd avoid any that get over the 18" mark.

senegulas polys are good with reed fish. Anyways, reedfishes only reach a max of 12 inches. many people mistaken that for 36 inches.
