Senegal Tank Size...and will they eat...

What's minimum for a Senegal Bichir? Will a 55g be okay? I've been eyeing them for a long time, and I'm considering adding one after a while. I really like the delhezis but I think that would be pushing it.

Was also wondering what size fish they will attempt to eat. Currently I have a 2" Leopard Ctenopoma that I'm worried about, I will definitely wait until he grows up a bit before adding any bichirs. I'm considering a small school of either Roseline Torpedo Barbs, or Boesemani Rainbows...a senegal won't be tempted to nom them will it? Those would be some pricey snacks.

Sens are fine in a 55g...

I have kept them with some smaller fish and none were eaten.

A couple of sens will be fine in a 55g. They grow pretty slow after they hit 7-8", so even if you felt the need to rehome them later, you would have a lot of time.

I personally would use a 40g breeder before I'd go for a 55. I like the extra 6 inches going from front to back
