Hey I have two senegals one 16cm and the other is 18cm and they have nice bellies on them. A guy has a Clown knife up for sale 25-30cm and i'm keen as but only concern is that he'll eat my senegals? What are the chances of this happening as I have a flagtail, NTT datnoid, clown loachs and raphael cats in there aswell? All help would be much appreciated as these dont come up often in aus.

Cheers

some people have this combination, hv a look at their tank in the polypterus media lounge, will gives u some ideas.
I kept them together before, never had any problem, but I ended up selling the CK for getting way to big too quickly,..
what are the variants of bichirs which are available in Australia?

I think the bigger lower jaws would be OK with a CKF, but I rekon the Senegals and similar will have a gruesome ending at some point.

All are few and far between especially since the new laws on imports but the main three are senegal, delhezi and the rarest ornate. All between $300-$700 around the 20cm mark depends on type..

alot of people hv similar combination, pics are in the media lounge, size is all that matter, I had two CKs along with my bichirs for over 2 years before, and I never had any problems, but it's all up to people's own choices for this matter.

Thanks, do you think that the likely hood of the CK eating them is pretty slim? I'm not sure if the previous owner has been feeding it live or not as its being sold "for a friend". I dont want to lose a senegal but i cant be picky with sizes of the CK as i havent seen one for over a year..

when I put mine together, my bichirs were the first occupants in the tank, and I used to have more than 20 bichirs in a 150 gal tank, size were vary from 15 cm to 30 cm,
and later on I added 2 CKs which were only about 15 cm each.
Just have a look at the media lounge where you can find similar combination, there are plenty of examples, some even combine their bichirs with datnoid and arowana, I hope you have a big tank for them.
CK can grow really fast..
cheers

Thanks for the help been told by a couple people that if its been fed live food to save my money and steer clear. Just waiting for the guy to let me know. But as if he'll say it only eats live when he is trying to sell it...
