Are senegals supposed to have green along the top of there bodys? because mine has it and it also has small black spots could it be a cross breed or something?

Got pics? Most sengs have more markings as youngsters than they do when they grow up. Mine had nice markings as a 2 incher, but has lost most of them. (He's now 3.75 inches long.)

Here the lfs call these guys "green senegals".. I think all of the senegals have a little green when they r younger..and turn brownish later.

Most have it, and it becomes more pronounced over black substrate.

Other species have it too.

Yep, individual variation. From the ones that I've seen, the smaller ones (about 2 inches) have two bars on the top of their heads.

She is about 8" so if it was going to lose the color it would of gone by now I think.......
