would it be possible to keep an ok sized senegal in a 56g tank with 7 angelfish of good size and an african knifefish. other tankmate would be a swordtail. i see that petsmart sells them and they have some of about 2 inches cuz i dont think they really sell that well there. i feed my entire tank tubifex and bloodworms. tropical flakes for breakfast.

For sure the swordtail is gonna be a snack when it gets an inch or so more on it. I have also seen some babies (there were two of them about an inch and half long) demolish an angel but it depends on the personality of the fish as well. Watch the petsmart ones well sometimes they come in with nasty parasites . . . I would know I've seen it first hand.
They should get along fine, but the Swordtails will eventually become a snack as the Bichir grows.
im not sure if im gonna do it yet or not, since im not sure how i would completely cover the tank holes in the back that the cover doesnt extend over. i may just wait until i have my big tanks, but it would be nice to have one now.
the tank is plenty big for a senegal. sens usually go great with african knifefish. the angels should be fine, too, but the swordtail will eventually be eaten.
