hi,i really need some help as im not sure what to do.i was going to get a jd or a green terror but now im not so sure.my question is,my brother in law has my 2 senegals that i used to own about a year ago and said i can have them back if i wish.they are about 7 inches long.my lfs has a 5 inch delhezi that looks really nice.my tank size is 48 inches x 16 inches wide x 20 inches high.could the 2 senegals and the 1 delhezi work ok????what else could i put in the tank????what would go on the bottom of the tank for a cleanup crew(pictus????)

how does this sound

2 x senegal
1 x delhezi
2 x pictus
3/4 silver dollars or redhooks

please let me know what you think guys plus any suggestions you may have.

Should be no problem with the sen and the del- 7" and 5" are close enough that you should avoid any "disapearing" problems. The Del will outgrow your senegals withing in a year.
Bottom crew tankmates for clean up---If you can find an armoured cat(hopo) they make a great scavanger and are not aggressive. pic attached

would 6 x red torpedo barbs go in ok????

2 x senegals
1 x delhezi
1 x brislenose
1 x rubbernose
6 x red torpedo(dennisonii)

what do you think????any better suggestions???

ps i have the 2 x senegals and the bristlenose and rubbernose.collected them from my brother in law just now.

thanks for the concern, but the 2 x senegals and the bristlenose and rubbernose have all lived together for over a year with no problems.bristlenose/rubbernose are very small plecs as well so im not overly concerned.

if the barbs are no good the silver dollars or red hooks or something else????

Personaly I think you are stocked you need to remember the adult sizes the bichirs alone should be in the 1 foot range each when fully grown-Anne

Have a list of possible tankmates tho I'd rather have the the senegals and delhezi lol
Tankmates
Below is a partial list of possible tankmates for the small to midsized bichirs species.Parameters I used are based on size, temperment and availabilty . And i believe is a good starting point for you to do further research before purchasing -Anne
