I had a rare moment tonight sat by myself in front of my tank. Our resident razorback must turtle was right at the front of the glass so I decided to show the tip of my finger to it and let it chase it back and forth along the tank. I was suddenly surprised when my senegalus decided to then follow and chase my finger-it could clearly see and followed it back and forth and up and down for some time
Though I admit to rarely having time to sit and relax and watch my fish (3 boys see to that!) I've never seen this in a polypterus before. I always assumed their eyesight was poor and they relied on smell when hunting.
I just wondered if anyone else had ever experienced this with their own Polys?
