bought a senegalus, appatite was awesome, regular water changes, and param of water is all good
the delhezi with it grew quickly
but the senegalus is still about 3 inches max. it eats alot, eats that its belly swells! very much a pig

is it stunted?

i moved it to a bigger tank recently, and as sona s i put it in , it started eating food!

so apptite is no the issue..

no way it could be stunted not to grow over 3 inches.
its been this size for more than couple of months

How thick around is it? How big was it's enclosure? Maintenance schedule? Pic's would help as well. Could it be a Shortbody?

no
i dont think it is, its like a pencil thickness, thin
its in a grow out tank, a 250 litre 3 foot by 1.5 by 1.5 foot. so not big tank but its tiny so growing it out

3" is extreme to suspect genetics, but it is likely due to environmental factors while it was at the lfs.

Do you know how long it was at the LFS before you bought it?

that's what I was suspecting.

The lfs where I got my albino, they still have some from the same batch four months ago, and they are the same size, yet mine has grown at least four times that size and could still have been affected by the little to no feeding at that lfs.

The very first Poly I got was an Albino Senegal. It didn't grow very much. Maybe a 2" growth and I had it for about a year. The current ones I have now grew from 2" to 6" in 3 months. And as Anne posted, there's a lot of factors involved. I think my situation was due to genetics.

can be genes or what sergio said
