Can someone please point out ways to visually defferentiate between senegalus and palmas? I have had both for well over a yer and they look identical. I do realize that one of them (palmas) was mislabled. I also realize that 2 species lok remarkably simmilar. But there has to be a difference... what is it?

they absolutly look nothing alike imo, seneguls have no pattern at all and palamas have a pattern and have shades of green.

Strange, both of my fish have a slight pattern of dots. I know that this is commonly found on baby senegals but they are close to 8" now... What that mean that they are not senegals? I am confused now

if they have a spotted pattern there prob not seneguls, post a pic or 3

sometimes senegalus do have dots on the back, even adults. if both of yours look identical, i'm gonna have to say both of them are senegalus. a lota times lfs mislabel senegalus as palmas.

Post some pics of your fish, so we can see them cause a sen and a poli dont look the same..The polli has a green marbled pattern and a sen has a solid grayish tan body...:)

pics please! senegals and palmas look totally different so i'd wager both are the same species one way or the other.

the first pic is my senegal.the second pic is my palmas polli
