Ok when you have multiple numbers of a certain species in a tank and you have some that pair up and you want to get the non pairs out of the tank, How do u go about doing that without getting confused and taking out the wrong fish? when you put the net in the tank the fish get stressed and run together mixing up and making it impossible to figure out which ones are the pairs and which ones arent.

Use some sort of glass or other physical divider to coral the non breeding fish away from the breeding pair, when the breeding pair are together (if they spend time together, which im guessing the do. Then you simply net them up, or net up the pair.. :) Hope this helps.

I can't say I have tried it for that reason but I have way better luck using that method when trying to catch a certain fish, then I do netting. seems like they don't notice the glass sheet as much until they get closer.
