So I recently started stocking my 6', 135 gallon tank. I only had a few red glass barbs and a skinny little 3" senegal bichir until today. A guy on Craigslist was selling his EBJD and 2 firemouths so I bought them because I've really been wanting an EBJD.
Problem is, they are all bigger than he described. The EBJD is about 4.5" and the firemouths are 6" and and 4.5". The firemouths seem to limit their aggression to each other and the EBJD when he messes with them and leave everyone else alone, but the EBJD seems to be out to get the bichir, who is going nuts.
I'm thinking of sticking a divider in the tank and keeping the firemouths and EBJD on one side and the rest of my stock and future small cichlids I buy on the other side until they are bigger. I really want to keep the EBJD since he is stunning and was a rare find.
Any suggestions?
