rhom or gibbus?

Whatever it is its nice, first thought rhom but anal fin throwing me off but im a noobie to p id. Without that anal colour it looks exactly like mine

I always err on the side of rhom. There's no holotype to compare gibbus too. Whether or not it's got an elongated body shape, it's definitely lacking some adipose tissue in the fat storage area. If treated for parasites and fed, it may look much differently. G or pedro could probably tell you.

yea it could just be one skinny @ss rhom. cool thing about it is that I was told that it's only 3.5" and the eyes are already red.

if it's not a gibbis, and not a skinny rhom, the shape looks like one of those rhoms in the youtube vid where which showed wild rhoms from a tv show with an especially angled forhead and red eyes. never seen any other rhom pics online like them.

i bought a serra as a present for a buddy that I thought was a gibbus, exact same shape, not long enough to be an elong that resembles this fish. that fish had clear fins and eyes though, and red gill plate. He wanted to speed up it's growth and threw it in the pond, since then we haven't been able to find it.

interesting, what other fish are in the pond? how big was it when you throw it in the pond? if there were large arowana or cichlids it might get eaten.
private pond or it's has any possible way of getting into public water way?

Im thinking it looks like a rhom that at one point had a big chunk taken out of its back.

big private pond, with big koi, and sectioned with divider but i think the serra managed to get into the main area. it was about 5 inches.
