Does anybody have information on keeping these species? It seems like the only info out there is on robustus, which is most likely because it is found within but not endemic to Lake Malawi. However, there are other interesting species out there such as altus, which almost looks like a giant Altolamprologous. Here are a couple of photos of the species mentioned but I am also interested in other members of the genus. I realize most species get quite large but usually doesn't stop a lot cichlid diehards, especially since they seem to exhibit some attractive coloring.

I had heard a few years back, that Serranochromis angusticeps had made it into the aquarium hobby, but whenever I tried to find it, it was nowhere to be found.
I believe the demand for such large, and comparitably colorless species would make it so unprofitable to try a ship them from sometimes war torn and often countries in turmoil that until things settle, these will long be on wish lists.
Maybe if they are requested by enough times by enough interested aquarists, some importers might take a chance.

I think Serranochromis robustus is pretty much the only one you will ever come across and that's just because they get collected every once in a great while out of Lake Malawi. Even then it's usually just a single fish here and there. There just doesn't seem to be any commercial collection in the areas where the others are found.
