growth rate of a s. elong = slow

a 8 inch elong = big
9 inch = huge

oh i know they take forever, its just the guy at the LFS told me that all the P's grow about 1"inch per year but the elong grow 2" per year if u stuff him. I don't believe it since i cant trust anything pet store owners say but I cant find nothing on the net to give me a basic idea?

Mine is 5 inches, how long do u think till hes 8-9?

To reach 8-9 inches from 5, just a guess but I would say at least 5 years if not 10 . You rarely see pictures or hear about an elong thats much bigger than 7.5 inches. someone on pfury has one thats 8.5-9 and haven't seen one that topped it yet.

I had one that size.. he passed away though..

Umm if yours is five ide say like 2 years to 7 inches and then slower after that.. big tank, big current, and lots of food, lots of times a day = big piranha..

has any body owned a black mask elong, if so is there a difference between size and aggression between the two

no differences

same species.

only difference in a black mask is physical features.

just like a blue diamond rhom is the same species as any other rhom, just has different physical features. but still a rhom

like having black hair instead of red hair basically...

Aggression will depend on fish, but growth rate will be generally the same.
