Greetings folks, I am new to this forum. I have a juvenile (1 1/2") irritans piranha in a 75 gallon tank. Very cool fish. Can anyone give me an idea of what kind of growth rate I can expect its first year? The only past experience I have with piranhas is with pygocentrus nattereri, which would reach 6" their first year.

How can u tell ita an irritans if its only 1.5 inches?...

Really slow it will take it a year just to hit 4-5 inches and then prob .5-1 inch a year after that

It is an irritans according to Pedro at aquascape online. Wild caught in the Orinoco basin in Colombia near Venezuela border. Time will tell, I suppose. Very aggressive little fish. The tail looks identical to irritan photos that I have googled
