Hi there,
According to your experience, what adult Serrasalmus could live in a 55 gallon for life, if any ?
They all grow pretty big, but I was thinking that maybe some of them are pretty static fish and could be ok in a 55.
Let me know your experience !

The 12 inch width makes things tricky. I wouldn’t do any species larger than 8 inches. Sanchezi would be best.
Exodons are a good piranha alternative.

I was thinking more of some more unusual size tanks that provide more width, such as 39x17 or 39x19.
What if it was something like this ?

In that case, I think the length becomes the issue (even if it isn’t that big a difference). I still wouldn’t do any fish larger than 8 inches in that size.
If you can get a 75 gallon, you might be able to do a larger p.
