Service interval for eheim classic 2215

Ive had my eheim 2215 for about 3 months now I think... I was wondering after reading every ones post about back flushing theres like every two weeks. How often should it be serviced ?

My tank has a lot of other filtration (800 GPH of Hang on the back) and an under gravel filter. Load is only a 7" poly sen bichir and a 4.5" Jack Dempsey
its a 55 gallon

Should service every couple months, After servicing a few times you will get a feel if you need it more or less often.


BTW you have not even had your 2215 for 2 months yet.

your right. I should have kept track seemed longer than that.

Howdy,

You will know when it's time to service: The flow rate will drop significantly. Believe me, you'll know. No need to do anything in between. I service my Eheims once per year ...

Good to hear! The flow rate is just fine. Ill leave it alone. I have to open it up to add some more substrate pro however a back flush could nor hurt wish me luck im not sure why there is a gap in there with no media
