hey i have a 20gallon long and i want to do some live rock and polyps...what fish should i put in it i want some real colorful fish....i will be getting a bigger tank...and what should i use for a filter....and do i need a protein smimmer....anything else......how are these

That's a great question on what type of fish you want to put in your tank.
You can get it. Should be good enough for a small tank like that.

a 20 gallon tank, an AC 50, a good light (depends what corals you want) and weekly water changes should make for a good reef tank

for fish there's alot you can do..

if you want color and more than one fish i'd suggest something like this:
1x royal gramma
1x yellow watchman goby (pistol shrimp optional)
1x aldabrensis dottyback (or springer, or orchid)
and maybe a pair of clown or neon gobies or something, if you think you can maintain that much

what size tank are you upgrading to and when?
