Ok,
since my 180 doesent seem to please me anymore i thought about turning things around and up a knotch.
my new system would be a 302 gallon acyrlic tank (72'L x 36'W x 27''H). More turning room for my big girl and more room for tank mates and. . . MORE TANKMATES!!!
filteration would be a tenecor 100-800 wet-dry filter, whats kool about thses is their ENORMOUS!!! bio media capacity, 40 gallons baby!!!
, plus they have veery large sump area, thats where im putting my 2 300 watt heaters, (im kind of grateful my fish got ich and my heater breaking, because it made me an excuse to buy two good brand new heater to warm this tan kreally nicely) so i wont have to stick them in the tank and take up space and risk getting hit by my tank busting arow when she gets spooked
, PLUS!!! a better heat distribution, water will be kept at 83 F and aerated well.
This wet dry also has "CARBON GATES" which of coarse hold chemical media, like carbon, but i will use chemipures, water can flow through, making it very efficient, i havent seen any of these carbon chambers in any other wet-dry's.
The pump i would use would be my RIO 32 HF which is rated at 1920 GPH
the return would be a homemade PVC sraybar
as for the intakes they would be dual 2inch diameter thread bulk heads in the side of the tank, with screw in black scrainers, forget the pre-filter!! it takes up space and its anoying to clean, plus its cheaper, i have a friend that can drill the holes for free, hole will be drilled low enough to have 2&1/2 inches between the surface of the water and the top of the tank .
as for water changes, heated water from the sink with a python
I will also add supplements, like garlic extreme, zoe( sound promising bluedempsey
) and vita-chem.
i submitted an iquiry(spelling) to tenecor and i got this today
tank cost: 1348$
filter cost: 657$
tank purchased with filter- free shipping of the filter
shipping for tank: 163$
seeing the best out of you fish in a great set-up. . . priceless
hehe.
I dont thnk its that expensive as i dont have anything else to pay for (car, house, water, etc,etc.). and i can save all i want till i get it, i think ill also be paying for supplies myself as i have done some research and found some place to get stuff cheap
.
just though i share my idea, and maybe "plan"
