I have a 60X24x24 tank I would like to set of for a single species piranha. First what would you recommend? Second my only concern is the pH is quite high (7.4). Is there a product you use to maintain a lower pH. I haven't had much luck with products in the past. Thank you!
So like many fish, having a stable pH is better than trying to get to a specific pH? With the Redbelly, should I have an odd number? I was originally thinking just one like a Geryi or a Rhom. The Redbelly would be my choice and the ph shouldn't be any concern.

Thank you! That is very helpful. I will check out preatoria_aquatica. This will be for my shop tank, so it may be a good fit. Thanks again ??ive owned 7 species of piranhas- rbp, cariba, rhom, manueli, sanchezi, geryi, altispinis.. and personally if ur not collecting species id go for rbps or rhom if u want something unique.. geryi is just for the looks same as other serras. I said rbps bec theyre cheap. rhoms among serras tend to be more outgoing. pygos are fun feeding especially live. Serras dont eat everyday and u wont get that feeding, they grow slow, hover in one spot most of the time.. i hate to say this but piranhas are kinda boring when u dont feed live... u cant check predatoria_aquatica on insta i have my serras there… im not bashing piranha, i still am an active member of piranhas groups in fb but i want to be honest about keeping them✌?..if u keep piranhas make sure u really really like them.. dont expect activity, swimming around alot. if u do have questions reach out to me![]()
If its for a display tank, a group of pygos is the way To go.. people will walk in and see piranhas.. its a good conversation starter.. sorry predatoria_aquatica. Mispelled it.. got vids on youtube too.. same nameThank you! That is very helpful. I will check out preatoria_aquatica. This will be for my shop tank, so it may be a good fit. Thanks again ??
