So i currently have a 30 gallon with a 4 inch tiger oscar, 2 senegal bichir about 5 inches, and a 7" pleco. i just got a 75 gallon tank to move those guys into, plus adding a few more fish. What kind/brand and size filtration should i use, would prefer to get away from the HOB filters. Also probably wrong section but what kind of heater do you guys suggest i use, the stealth ones?

Don't add any more fish. You already have too much for a 75 gallon. Just the oscar and pleco would be pushing the limits of a 75 gallon when they are grown.

For filtration I would recommend an Eheim 2217 Canister and for a heater either a Jager or Stealth.

they still have plenty room in the 29 gallon they're in, but i know they will outgow the 75 one day, but by then i will have a 200 or 300 for them.
thanks for your guidence on the filtratration and heater!

buying the fish before the tank.... alot like putting the horse before the cart...

im a big fan of sumps...

What brand of sump do you recommend?

build one

thanks! i'm definately going to look into building one myself!

a canister filter could work, but there are some drawbacks...if you over filter you 75 it would make up for most of the oscars feces.
