hey guys, I plan on setting up a to gallon nano reef soon. I just wanted to ask a few q's.

1. would 65 watts be good lighting for the tank? Or is that too much?

2. Do I need a protein skimmer for this tank?

3. I knoe that your supposed to do 1lb of live rock to the gallon but dosen't fill up the space in my opinion. Would it be fine if I did 25 or 20lb's of live rock?''

any suggestions welcomed:D

It should be Okay, i think just get some Attinic and Dayy light, if doesnt work jsut place corals or stuff that need light higher =^_^=

Yes protein skimmer would really help. ALOT, i learned this teh hard way =D hmm if u havent set up the tank, yet, maybe consider making a sump for it and drilling some sort of over flow =D and adding a sump or soemthing that way u can hide ur skimmer =D i dunno dont mind me just babling on =^.^=

1 Lb per gallon is jsut a guide line u dont always have to follow it =D as long as u havea decent amount it should be fine.

any suggestions welcomed:D

ummm oh here now itz not to short =^___^= space space type type =D

thanks!

It all depends on the bulbs. If you have 65w and its all the wrong spectrum its worthless.

I run my 10g without a skimmer. Its not for everyone though.
Heres a thread about it.

20lbs may be a little excessive. The more rock you put in the more water you are displacing which means the params will shift much faster. I have 1.5 lbs per gallon in my tank. I always figure my lbs per gallon will go up because I'm still adding corals and they usually come on some base rock which adds to the lbs per gallon.

any suggestions welcomed:D

Hope this helps :D
post some pics once you get it set up.
