A friend of mine is giving me his 125g tank and I have 2 pacus and a pleco in a 50g tank right now.I have a FX5 on the 50g but I need to get a filter for the 125g tank to get it going.Should I get another FX5 to get it cycled and then add the second FX5 to it when I am ready to transplant the fish to the new tank?

Are you keeping the 50 setup? If the 50 is going on the shelf for the time being I would fill the 125, treat the water and then let it sit for a while. Then transfer the fx5 when you move the fish.
The 50 would of course make a nice sump for the 125.
If you are going to keep the 50 setup then I would buy the new fx5 and set it up on the 50. When you move the fish move the old fx5 with them.
