Well, first off I'm new to the piranha keeping hobby and as so may not be able to keep up with some of the things you guys say but I know a little, so I'm sure I can figure it out :)

Anyway, I'm buying a 150g tank that is 70"x24"x24" or right around that size anyway, Its a beautiful tank and comes with some small amount of items, but I will most likely replace most of them. I want to get a list of things I should get for it: heater, filtration system, power-head, etc. I was also wondering about the RO/DI systems and what you guys thought of them, I live in Indiana which has very hard water.

As for cycling the tank I was wondering what type of fish would be good to put in to get the cycle started, I will have 4-5 RBP and maybe 1 or 2 Piraya's in the tank but the Pirayas will come later on in the year.

If the tank your getting is a 72 x 24 x 24 then its a 180 gallon. A regular 150 is 72 x 18 x 25.

Well, its a Japanese tank, so its a little different but it is right around 70"x24"x24" and the guy said it was 150g but it looked bigger to me, I didn't say anything to him about it of course. But your right 70"x24"x24" is right around 175g - I didn't bring my measuring tape when I went to see it (like an idiot) but it looked close like I said.

Thats awesome If I could I would have got a 180 having a 24 wide gives you much more options then a 18 wide.
