Setting up a 210 Sump (need some Help)

I am setting up a 210 (4ft x 3ft x 27 1/2 in) and it is a sump tank. i have other large tanks and run them with power head and sponge filters. i baught this tank new so i could learn how to do a sump. i have a 40 gallon to be the sump tank and would like some ideas on how to do a cost effective sump set up.

There are so many threads about setting up sump just do a quick search in the search area and you should find tons to read through. Personally i think the 40gal might be a bit small to filter a 220 but you can always upgrade later when you get the hang of the whole sump thing.
