Hey All,

So I recently bought a 90 gallon and I wanna create a DIY background for it that covers the entire back of the tank, wraps around. Below is a very shoddy representation of how I want it to look. The black spray paint marks are the caves, the gray is the background. The blue tube is the filter intake. Now a few questions.

1. What kind of foam is used to best do this? What tools will I need to cut it? What Silicone safe to use?
2. How can I create the ledges I want to? (marked by the squiggly black lines) Should I carve it into the foam or should I place foam pieces on top of the background
3. What do I use to seal it and paint the foam to a color I want?

As soon as I pick up the tank tommorrow I'll take pictures. There's a corner overflow and I was wondering how to incorporate that into my design. Anyways. This should be fun and a learning experience, my first DIY tank. the substrate will be PFS (I bought 100 lbs but I don't plan on using it all). I also plan to "plant" fake vegetation within the DIY background.I plan on stocking it with either African cichlids or something similar. Feel free to toss ideas to me! Also, I'm looking at using angular rocks to create a pile on the tank floor and possibly the structure you see at the far right of the tank.

Thanks in advance for your help!
