Hi there,
Been in the hobby for a while now. Just found this site and wanted to post my progress on a sump free 250 Gallon build.

Finished the plumbing for the most part. Have to attach a couple of 90s and the intake strainer. The return nozzle I am waiting for. Get the custom aquarium delivered tomorrow. 250 starfire front and sides.

I wanted a closed loop system. So I went with a canister filter, and a pump. I am also adding 2 Coralife super skimmers. I have used them before and kinda like them. I am adding heaters on both ends..

Will update with more pics..20151215_192757.jpg 20151212_223759.jpg 20151218_171452.jpg

Welcome to MFK, Jonathan!

Looking like a very clean project thus far. What are planning to put in, once the tank is up and running?

Welcome to the party!!
It's going to be awwwesome.... ;)
What is the pump rated plumbed to the Nu-Clear? I really like those a traditional canister alternative. You can totally customize them. Does it have an integrated UV?
Curious where you plan to put the bio....

Wow! You guys are so much cooler than reefcentral.. Lol..

It is going to be a saltwater reef.. I am running the deepwater Aquatics pump. I think the DC 5. I customized the internal carbon to accept half carbon half bio balls on the nu-clear filter. No UV sterilizer..

My bro in law used the deepwater for his Closed Loop and really liked it. He especially liked the fact union with gaskets are provided. That's good when running external pump.

I have in-laws and know a few reefers, but hold my own with my FW...LOL. They're the closest I have for a to talk tank set-up with a live person haha. Welcome to MFK.

Plumbing all done. Got the intake strainer and outflow installed. Heaters mounted on both sides..
