I have a 75 gallon Reef Ready aquarium in my basement that has been itching to be set up. I have an Amiracle SR200B that I will use as my sump and wet/dry.

I am new to cichlids, so please help.
I am thinking about making my own DIY background (I'll decide that later). I'm leaning towards using Ec-Complete African Chiclid Substrate. Then of course, I'll have a bunch of lace rock, some caves, and a couple pieces of driftwood.

Aside from the obvious heater, maybe a powerhead and airstone, when else do I need to get started?
Any other ideas for me?

:feedback:

thanks!!!

Does it matter how deep the substrate is? 2-3 inches cool?
