I just got a 75 gallon tank and I will be setting it up over the next few weeks. Here are the fish I have so far
Albino Red Zebra
2 Orange red zebras
female zebra obliquidens
1 Yellow jake
a male Auratus
a lot of zebra fry
A synodontis cat fish
I bought these from an LFS out of a tank of assorted cichlids and to be honest at the time I had no idea that it was not a good idea to put a peacock in with Mbunas and also did not know how agressive the Auratus is suppose to be, but he is really mellow and leaves all the other fish alone including the fry.
We got in to cichlids by having to do a rescue. The place were my wife works had a 55 gallon tank with onedemasoni in it. They started remodeling the office area, unplugged the tank and drained half the water. It was like that for 5 days before we took the fish and set up the tank we have. Unfortunately the demasoni died a few days later.
I am taking my time, doing things right (no 56 column tank and lots of caves) and will be making several DIY projects including this cave grotto set up: www.duboisi.com/diy/BNdiygrotto/bndiygrotto.htm
Any suggestions on what else to get if anything else.
