SETTING UP A NICE CON TANK

Hi i've devided to get 4 convicts to put in my 60 to breed.

2barred

Anyone have pics of their con tanks and/or suggestions on how to set it up.

Cons are pretty easy for breeding so you dont have to do much just make sure you have hiding places for the fry
 
I would put some nice sand in there for them to dig around in also get some flower pots and turn them over. They enjoy them alot. Put some java moss for the fry to hide in. A sponge filter would be good for the fry tub or some sort of prefilter. Nuetral ph and temp around 78 to 80 degrees
 
i would do sand, rocks, bogwood, and pvc pipes covered..with gravel...and some fake silk plants..would look nice..
 
A cave of some sort at each end of the tank and a stand of plants in the middle will help the fish better define territories.use a siphon hose to capture the babies soon after they start swimming.

Warm water, feed 3-4 times daily and 50% w/c twice a week and they'll grow quick. I would keep it bare bottom no decor.

do i have to move the fry to a diffrent tank. i was going to use them as feeders because most likley the lfs wont need them or wont have space.
 
i know this might be a stupid question, but do male black cons get as big as the pink ones? its just that ive never seen a black con over 3 inches. ive seen a 5 inch pink before. and i dont hink mr.mean is a true pure-convict.

I don't know if size of cons is relative to being pink or black, but i have seen some..o.k 1 huge black convict(6 inches) before.
