Setting up a tank for a stingray. Best sand?

Hi I'm setting up a new tank with a stingray in mind. What is the best sand to use? I would really prefer black but natural works too. A little more on the inexpensive side since i need to buy hundreds of pounds of it. Thanks!

IMO… carib sea torpedo beach is the best substrate for rays. Its a heavy grit and white shows rays colors best. Problem with most lower grit sand is that it sticks to the rays disc/slimecoat as well as entering the water column. You might not need as much as youd think either. It stays clean if the amt of sand u have is able to be turned over completely by the rays.

Pool filter white sand also.
I prefer bare bottom...

I used really fine gravel that I collected from a local river. I put it through a seive to keep grain size 1mm or less. Fines were washed out as well. Avoid substrates that are coated.
