I just ordered a arowana and I want to prepare my tank the best that I can. For example what should the Ph vaule of the water be, I have gravel in my tank should I take it out? and other important stuff. Please reply asap

What size and type arowana did you order? What size and type tank do you have? Juvinille aros require a bit different care and tankmates then larger arowana.

To answer your two questions, pH will be best set according to your tap water's value. Though personally I would not keep any SA arowana in a high pH.

Gravel is just a personal preference, as long as it is properly maintained it will have no bearing on the arowana.

congrats, aros are great
1. cover ALL sides of the tank
2. beware of strong lighting too close to surface of the water
3. driftwood, peat based filtering materials & blackwater will make him feel right at home (be careful not to let these substances decrease ph and kh too much)
4. WC are a must, at least 20% weekly
5. feed it earthworms, tenebrius, tetra sticks, insects, live fish and dried shrimp
6. ph at 6.8

i wouldnt remove the substrate, just vacuum it regularly, have decent filtration and DO NOT feed it insects from your backyard! unless you are 149% positively sure they havent been sprayed with pesticides.
GOOD LUCK!
