Like the title says I'm looking to start up a Monster Geo tank. It's something I've always wanted to do but have been busy with other cichlids. The big question is I want to house about 15 or so but I really need to know what footprint of a tank I should be looking for. I've got connects to the fish just need to know the tank size. Plan on running Two fluval fx5 and maybe a powerhead or two. Any helpful tips would work thanks

Depends on which species you want ... one of the smaller 7" ones like Tapajos Orangeheads or one of the big 12" ones like altrifrons.

Shouldn't need a powerhead, they'll be stirring up the sand constantly, but like darth pike said, tank size depends on the type of geos as they vary greatly in size. With 15, there will definitely be pairs and they will carve out their territory and defend it aggressively. So...as big as you can get away with?

Was thinking of Tapajos Orangeheads along with surinamensis and altifrons

Almost every surinamensis you see for sale in this country is altifrons. True surinamensis are not frequently imported.

Not worried about that atm I just wanted to see the ratio on Geo's if I go with 15.

I am in the process of setting up an 8 x 2 x 2 , which will use 2 eheim 2260s . I will be putting 10 abalios ( currently 2inch ) , 5 pindare currently 3 inch , and 4 chocolate cichlids in the tank ( currently 3 inch) . I expect this to be ok for atleast 2 years .
