Hi,
Am finalizing the fish plan for my new 500 gallon tank.
Currently 2 oscars(juvenile), 2 poly delhezi( juv), 2 poly senegal(juv), 8 talking cats (adult), 2 synodontis(adult).
Now I need to have some opinions on the rest - clown loaches(how big will they need to be?, hoplo cats(adult 6") , midnight catfish (adult 4").
I know that they can eat anything they can fit in their mouth.I don't put in feeder fish. Also personality matters too. But what is peoples experiences of adult polys brought up with these types of tankmates and not fed live food.
Currently only the oscars, polys and talking cats live together.

thats more like 673.25 gallons

If you keep your poly's well fed, you shouldn't have any problems.

I have some tiny 1' geo's in with my 8" congicus, 12" polli, etc.. and as long as I feed earthworms or krill before lights out, I don't have to worry about the geo's getting eaten.

The night I didn't feed them (trying to fast them onto pellets), the congicus ate two geo's.

Hi,
Mine are currently on pellets, might the live fish just be too appealing in comparison or are polys lazy?

i've never found them out and out predators alhough someone will beg to differ on that ! i think it is all down to individuals as some like live fish and others don't seem to be too bothered, but keeping them well fed may stop them eating other fish, good luck:)
