setting up my new planted (some info)

Hey guys i have an aquarium 1.50cm long 50cm tall and 50cm wide.. the aquariums is split in the middle with a piece of glass forming 2 aquariums.

So here are my questions..

1) can i use 1 single external filter for both of them?
2)if so how can i split the hoses to get 2 different inflows and 2 outflows ?
3) how many liters should the external filter be ? for a easy to medium plants
4) will a filter with a [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]UVC-sterilizer[/FONT][/FONT] be beneficial or not
