So I will be building a 240 gallon aquerium and right now I have a 180 gallon with a sump and fx5
I plan on building a bigger sump with more bio balls when I get the tank done do you think I should put my old bio balls with the new bio balls in the new sump and then take the water from my 180 gallon and put it in the 240 right now I have 2 motoro rays and 1 arowa
na in my 180 let my know what you think thanks.

Just add the old bioballs. You don't need the old water since there aren't much bb floating around in it....just waste products, so get rid of it all.

Forgot to add: move as many of the decor(driftwood, rocks, substrate, etc) as you can as they contain bb colonies as well. You can remove them after about a month once the new bioballs have a chance to establish bb

Keep your fx5 running in the new tank as well. Also make sure to use prime or the likes in the water when filling the new tank. The more of your old filter media you use the better. Enjoy your new setup .
