Hi guys so I got this roughly 540 I think 72 x 36 x 48 and it has 4 holes in the bottom drilled and I was going to just bulkhead and plug them but the acrylic top is unmolested and lids fully seal so would like to use the already drilled holes

2 holes are 2 3/8" and the other two are 1 3/4" I beleive

I have 2 ocean clear high flow canisters and a large external pump already but was considering running 2 big canisters in closed loops but don't know if they will take the 48" of vertical water pressure on the seals?

Any input is helpful, pic is hard to see the holes but they are visible in the 4 corners roughly a foot in from each side

Thanks man, I did it right and re finished the whole tank in and out its back to brand new condition, the front and back are 1.5" thick so don't wanna drill them they are to beautiful gotta make these holes work

I hear yah you did a great job. Wish I could help you with the filtration but good luck I'm sure you'll get it right

I would go to town on that tank and build a sweet overflow and 100 gallon sump...

Sorry I can't offer advice, I plugged the bottom holes on my tank..I should have kept one for a drain but ohh well.

I did want to say awesome tank though!! what's going in there?

Thanks PDX,

so I guess I am leaning twords running my ocean clear polishing canisters in loop with 1 submerged skimmer built in decorations and 1 submerged return with a check valve of course so no draining lol, then will use the back big hole as a durst style drain built into the background I will be making so it will skim the surface descently. Should take care of this tall of a column of water

Yeah my show tank I just sold was 84 x 24 x 24 with a all glass coast to coast bean animal overflow it housed over 100 african cichlids but a top skimmer overflow I doubt would touch the water at the bottom.

And in this tank I was leaning rays, p bass, arowana or may set it up as a south American setup..... any ideas?

10,000 goldfish!! lol.

I guess it would depend on where it is. Arrowana are super cool but it is just a single fish in a tank. I guess if it was in a living room I wound do anot intricate south American planted aquarium with plants and wood.

Only thing with 48" water column for plants is the lighting and what plants for a tank so tall?
