Hi Monster Fish Keepers Community,

I have a few questions about setting up my Pro-Clear 150 Wet/Dry Filter

• This setup comes with a hang-on-back overflow box, this makes me nervous because I cannot risk my tank overflowing. So what are all the possible safe-gaurds that I can put in place to prevent this? I am planning on dremeling a hole into the u-tube and using silicone to attach an air tube connected to a vacuum pump like this video. Would my system be safe with a setup like that?

• If my power were to go out, and my siphon broke, how much spillage would there be? Would it just be the amount that is inside the sump?

• The filter came with a CAP 1800 Pump. The issue is, the cable is torn and I'm not sure if I should use it or buy a new one. Would it be safe to put silicone over the tear and close it up?

• Is 600 GPH enough filtration for a 90 gallon tank with an Oscar and a Jack Dempsey? I was considering picking up an additional 400 GPH HOB filter.

Any tips on how to protect my siphon would be greatly apprecaited

Thank You

(Bonus picture of my Oscar in his temporary tank)

Try building a DIY wet/dry sump filter...........Less than $100 material will make a DIY wet/dry sump filter for a any tank between 55-125g.........I have pictures of my some where here in the forum..........I builts my for a 6 foot 125g...........The tank has been clean for almost three years now........

I would definitely take the DIY route next time, but this sump came with a tank I recently bought and I would like to get some use out of it. I just want to make it safe.
