If I upgrade from a 10 to a 20/29, can I just take all that is in the 10, including water, decorations, gravel, filter and put it in a 20/29 gallon along with the 20/29 filter and move the fish there? It would be kind of like doing a water change, but I want to be sure. It will be a new tank with old 10 gallon filter running as well as the new filter so the bacteria from the old is there, and the new can grow the bacteria.

I thought it might be best to cycle a new tank first and rinse the 10 gallon filter cartidge in the new tank and putting in stresszyme to help it along, but someone told me that you can just move everything from the old and run both filters. Considering this person "knows everything about everything", :screwy: I am not sure. :nilly:

I don;t see why you can't take everything and just transfer everything to the larger tank. Just make sure when you add the additional water, its chlorine free and the same temp. You will probably need a larger filter too. Ones recommended for a 10 don't normaly work for a 20 let alone a 29.

You should be fine if you move everything; water, filters, ornaments, plants, etc. I did it to set up my 29g. Moved a whisper 60 and about 12-15g of water from my 55g. So far no problems in the 29g. Heck it's healthier than my 55g right now lol
