Its all up to you. Its your tank and you're the one watching it for hours per day :D
Make sure you decide carefully because it can get expensive redecorating and will be time consuming. Can also stress out fish if you decide to redecorate it as well. So think about it and make a sure decision. You can also search for threads on here for ideas to help you decide.

I like sand better, I'll be using 3m colorquartz pool filter sand. I find gravel more dirty and takes up too much time to gravel vac. All the waste just falls and hides between it whereas cleaning sand is just basically hovering over it and swift it around.

Fine black sand with a simple black background might look good with red bellied pirhanas. Simple but sweet?
:D

Nice man, and I know I am late on this, but thats a clean setup, what did you stock with, still like aros? If you ever need more bioballs, check to see if any local reefclub members have them. Around here, they are constantly free, since many ditch them with saltwater setups due to the nitrate problems they can cause.

Lets see some fish!!!!

Cool tank. Like the dimensions and look of it. All black like an SR-71 :)
