i will be setting up 2 tanks, a 30 gallon and a 55 gallon. i was wondering how i should split up the fish i have. I have 1 female jack dempsey (about 4.5") 2 oscars (5") 2 pleco (4" and 9") and a puffer (4") how should i split these up between the 55 and 30 gallon tanks. I also plan on getting a male jack dempsey to possibly breed with the feemale. and some differ fish to make schools, not sure what kind yet, any ideas??
thank you,
mike

ditch both oscars, get the 2 jacks in the 55, the big pleco in the 55, the small in the 30, and the puffer in the 30

get rid of the plecos and oscars, put the jack in the 55, and get a male jack and put them up there. Put the puffer in the 30, puffers dont work well with tank mates

They will be like Chris Farley, "fat guy in a little coat"

In other words, they will outgrow that 55. Maybe not overnight but if you like them, plan on another tank in a few years.

i actually am an eagle scout. i will defiantly upgrade in a little bit, any ideas how i can set it up as is and keep my fish, also what kind of differ fish would u recommend while breeding the deempseys.

I have a 20 gallon i wanted to start some cichlids out in before i get my 55 gallon, Any suggestions???? DO any bottom feeders go ok with cichids?
