Hi guys again I decided I needed a bigger tank. I started with a 55 and a 40 gallon stocking small channel cats & bass.

I've since added another 55 and a 75 for my cichlids and flowerhorn but really want to get some RTC and TSN. So I read I'd need at least a fatboy 120 to house them properly.

What should I consider when setting up a tank of this size? What would be the best filtration and circulation method?

The native filtration units have been removed and there are pre dilled holes. Would it be easier to seal the holes or install bulkheads and route the water lines..

I’m sorry but you have been misinformed as they require far more than a 120. They each will grow longer than the tank is wide. I can’t go into specifics as I’ve not kept the species but thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter has and has many red tail catfish. I believe one is 3 feet long?

RTC and TSN both will outgrow the 120 gallon very quickly. If you have no plans of upgrading to a 500 or larger aquarium don't purchase a RTC.

This is a link to a youtube video made by thebiggerthebetter and it shows some of his very large red tail catfish. You can see just how big the tank is and how big they are.

I heard that sumps under the tank are dangerous if the power goes out?

If setup correctly you shouldn't have any problems. Also there is a few members that will be very happy to help you.

The biggest concern is flooding with Sumps.
