I have a 55 gallon tanganyika tank that has only four lamprologus multifasciatus in it currently. I am looking for interesting active colorful fish from Tanganyika to add to the tank. I was thinking a smaller variety of cyprichromis leptosoma, or a pair of Julidochromis transcripts, or Paracyprichromis nigrippinis. Or a combination of these. What do you all think and what would be ideal? Thanks!!!! ;)

I think the julis will compete with the multis for territory. In a larger tank I think it would work, but a 55 is pretty cramped quarters for that mix. Some non jumbo cyps would be perfect IMO. Shoot for 10, but no less than 6 and you'll have some nice color in the upper part of the tank

I would go with the nigripinnis and the multifasciatus. A pair of transcriptus may work on opposite ends of the tank from the multis. With the right setup, multis, transcriptus, and nigripinnis would work. I wouldn't mix more than 3 species in a tank.

Ok the nigrippinis or the cyprichromis. I really like Kekese. I also like the paracyprichromis nigrippinis. I wonder if i could do both and no transcriptus. Opinions?
