I live in AZ and was thinking about this the other day while I was cutting 2x4s for my new tank stand. I don't have too much room in my house and the size of my tank is limited due to this... Since we dont have crazy winters here in AZ, plus I could buy a heater... would this be a terrible idea?

dont make fun of me if it is!! :(

thanks guys

In a garage I would also see heat being a huge problem, a heat wave could cause your tank to heat up too much and kill the fish, I live in Massachusetts and I know garages around here get hot during the summer.

lol, 113 today. thats where I thought the problem would be. but there are lakes here with plenty of fishing...what could survive given the heat?

The lakes are able to support fish because as you go down deeper the water is much cooler, in a small aquarium setup water temperature will fluctuate much more quickly and this is what will kill the fish.

hey hows it goin,,, i have been tossing this idea around for awhile now i think in the summer time if you had a lot of water movement and say a screen top on the tanks so heat can escape it might work,,,
