I followed the directions of you guys during my experience with new tank syndrome. In the beginning I overstocked my aquarium way too soon causing the ammonia to Skyrocket eventually I removed the majority of the fish and stuck with one 7 inch arowana. I had used ammonia lock and stability for about 2 weeks and finally started seeing improvements after doing the recommended daily 40% water changes with a couple of 70% water changes thrown in there just for the hell of it. I did my last 40% water change today. Today our shipment arrived and we introduced 2 Red severums to our Aquarium and three marbled gar which are about 4 in Long, the severums are around 3 in Long. I'm hoping the arowana is not make a snack of one of the smaller gar. We also have 2 Golden severums already existing in the aquarium along with the seven inch arowana and 5 very small Cory cats. The ammonia levels have a drop to an acceptable level and I finally feel like things are going in the right direction. I think I did will watch using tankmates considering this is only a grow a tank which will last for the next two to three months Max until the larger aquarium is complete. What do you guys think? Opinions, suggestions or tips? And thank you again guys for helping me get to the cycling process, today the only water chemical I'm using is prime. :-)

Fish look nice! those "marbled gar" just so you know, are characins (related to tetra) and not "true" gars. They are awesome fish though.
I think your stock could work fine in a very large tank. How big were you planning on going?
I would also get rid of the cory cats, like immediately. They have spines which larger fish can choke on if they attempt to eat them, and looks like your arowana is already big enough to give it a shot. Don't want to come home to a bunch of choked out predators with dead cories lodged in their throats.

Water test results for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

Based on your other topic, I'm not sure your tank is cycled yet and the addition of more fish is a crap shoot.

My ammonia readings are now normal with my daily water changes.

I was under the impression the marbled gar was an actual species of gar, but I've read the size range of one foot which is acceptable considering were going first through larger fish type of setup. These still grow to be decent sized impressive looking fish, correct?

The marbled gar and Severums are feeding already but the two reds are still being bullied by the gold severums so I'm hoping for that to mellow out soon.

That looks like a 3' tank. I would get a 8' x 3' tank right now. Don't buy fish for the tank you want. Buy them for the tank you have.

I see your point. However considering I have the means to upgrade and have designated this aquarium as a growout. I don't think the fish are overcrowded, I think they have room to grow even. Don't you? Realistically.

If you have the means what are you waiting for? I don’t see the point of a grow out, when you don’t have a tank to transfer them to.
