im setting up a new 55 gallon tank for my jack dempsey ill be posting pics up during the setup and cycle time, when i figure out how to find the url of the pics i took 
but for now ill tell you about my tank and what i will be using.
well first off the tank is 48", 13", 21" all glass.
im using P gravel from lowes for the substrate and yes i did rinse it very good i rinsed it for an 1 hour and boiled for 30 minutes it was a 50 lb bag and there was alot of cleaning to be done
for the filtration im using a aquaclear model 70 with lava rock for my bio filteration im think of goin with only bio and mech for the filtration and not use any chemicals to keep it natual. im also thinking of using my rena filter that i just got but i wanted to wet test it before i used it and its making this film on the surface of the water kind of a rainbow film ifu have any ideas as to y this is please send me a message.
now as for decor i am at a crossroad i cant seem to find any place where i live that sells any good size rocks for my tank but my dad said he knows of a few places so i will be goin there next week to check it out and if its ok i was wondering if anyone can post some pics on here of there chiclidt tank setup so i can get some ideas as to how and what type of rocks have the most beauty for an aquarium
